particularly congested, but with your changes, the house was transformed. Taking the rugs out made the rooms seem bigger and flow better. Small pieces of
furniture dotted the interior, and removing those created clear lines throughout the house. Although we hated the thought of painting walls that we loved, a consistent paint choice (mushroom bisque) throughout the living, dining, kitchen, upstairs hallway, and family room created a warm and soothing environment. Each room, following your suggestions, showed so much better. You allowed potential buyers to see the actual space and ignite their imagination on how their things could be used.
Your attention to detail also made a huge difference to us. By switching out the kitchen hardware, the room no longer has a dated look. We were so grateful that we had you look at the granite for the kitchen. Our initial choice wasn’t as warm or complementary to the overall design. Your eye actually prevented us from making a big design mistake, which could not have been corrected easily. Cleaning the cabinets guided the eye towards the wood, rather than layers of handprints and grime. We bought new door locks and hinges, and everything looked great…
It’s not just your incredible design ideas that made a difference to us, it was the way you delivered that helpful information. You combine great skill with calming people facing major transitions. You didn’t over sell on any area, or make us feel personally discouraged by the house. You brought continual hope to a complicated process. You guided us through a maze of complexity. We felt that we knew what we were to do each step of the way, from the inside of the house, to the inside of the closets. Your service was beneficial to us personally, and in the selling of the house.
Here’s what we didn’t anticipate. Your training allowed us to look at houses in different ways. We looked to see the attention given to the homes we viewed. We opened closet doors. We often said, “This house doesn’t have a good floor plan. They need Lisa”…Another way you helped us was seeing continuity. We wound up buying a builder’s spec house – brand new. Great floor plan. But I noticed they sunk money into the bronze hardware in the first level, and skimped by putting chrome fixtures in the bathrooms on the second level. When we brought this to the builder’s attention, he agreed to switch them to the bronze and make them consistent. What you inadvertently trained us for was looking for the way the buyers after us would look at the house. And you saved us a lot of money by doing that.
